It is a great pleasure to invite you to participate in joint events:
 
  • 2nd CEFSER (Center of Excellence for Food Safety and Emerging Risks) Workshop “Persistent organic pollutants in food and environment",
  • 26th Symposium on Recent Developments in Dairy Technology, and
  • BIOXEN seminar “Novel approaches for environmental protection”,
that will be held at the Faculty of Technology, University of Novi Sad, in Novi Sad, Serbia, on September 8-10, 2011.
 
The main goal of this triple event is to explore the state-of-the-art in domains of food and the environment, including the contemporary information in food safety, dairy technology and the environmental protection.

These events will gather the outstanding keynote speakers and well-known scientists in the relevant disciplines from Europe, providing a forum for exchange of knowledge and expertise. The Workshop will also serve as a meeting point for the scientists from the Western Balkan Countries with the colleagues from the EU Member States, giving them a chance to discuss collaboration opportunities and possibilities for joint research activities.
 
Oral and poster presentations are planned; oral presentations will be in following forms: invited plenary lectures, session lectures and regular presentation. The Book of Abstracts will be prepared and distributed to the registered participants, as well as the Proceeding of Papers, containing the contributions accepted after the peer-review of eminent scientists from the Scientific Committees. Furthermore, the Organizing Committee is in contact with international scientific journals and selected contributions will be published, if accepted, in special issue after the peer-review through normal refereeing process.
 
Special opportunities will be offered to motivate the participation of the WBC's researches and, especially, of young scientists through different grants and awards. There will be also a poster competition to encourage scientific activity of early stage career scientists registered for the participation in the events. First, second and third place awards will include a certificate and a prize.
 
The special sessions will be devoted to the relevant experience in research and capacity building projects within the 7th European Framework Programme and Hungary-Serbia IPA Cross-border Co-operation Programme.
 
Two half-day tutorials in the fields of the advanced instrumental techniques in the analysis of pharmaceuticals (Analysis of pharmaceuticals using the advanced instrumental techniques) and of applied chemometrics (Application of chemometrics in environmental and food safety domains) will be organized for the participants registered by regular registration procedure who expressed the interest to participate in tutorial sessions.
 
Stands shall be placed for exhibition of companies in domain of analytical equipment and food processing supplies and services, as well as for representing European and national projects in order to communicate their achievements to stakeholders. This will provide a unique opportunity for contacts between the participants and exhibitors.
 
Vendor seminars organized by Serbian distributors of the supplies and/or equipment for analytical laboratories and food companies will be dedicated to the introduction of participants with the recent trends and strategies for advanced food quality/safety control and for environmental control.
